Merdeka Baby Lim Kok Hin

Every Merdeka day should see our fair share of babies born. Maybe a bit more than other days as some births are delayed and some sped up so as to reflect this August 31 date in their birth certificates and identity cards. Maybe for some, it can become a conversational issue. In pubs, after the subject of girls, women, getting lucky, number of times, number of them etc, the subject on being born on this day could rank in within the top 20.

I do not know of all these people except for Lim Kok Hin. Not only was he born on this date; he was born in 1957 as well. He could be crying for the first time when Tuanku Abdul Rahman was shouting Merdeka 7 times with his right hand held up high. Save for a short period before the umbilical cord was severed, he got independent being released from his mother physically on this day.

A former colleague warned me not to write about Kok Hin as he can be a pretty sensitive fellow.

He said not to write about him liking to wear white pants with red briefs in his early Canon days. He said not to write about him during his wild days in England. He said not to write about his social hits in quite a few states in Malaysia. He had stints in Penang, Sabah and PJ. (maybe more, lazy to research).

This person said Kok Hin, as he advance in his career in Canon, he progressively became more serious in his work and outlook, and less of a brother. This I think is the correct stance to take as we can see that Anwar currently too talk and dress differently as well, as he moved towards Prime Ministership.

Lim Kok Hin is so well known that I am sure I do not have to point out to you which one is him in the pictures.
