Marjorie and Jullie Chin

We had an eary lunch last week in the Gardens.

Joe Wong was supposed to join us. He didn't. We spoke on the phone. He was busily preparing his resume for a job interview that afternoon. Say, who prepare a resume for an interview when you are pushing 50! Joe's life is so colorful that one need a separate blog just to write about him. Much like those websites dedicated to just one celebrity. Think Paris Hilton, etc. Anyway, he said to me that after when the resume was done, it was pretty impressive.

Marjorie Chang joined us in 1983 and left in 1987. She was our copier salesperson. The photo on the left was taken by me last week. You think, how can she look so young when she joined us in 1983, like 25 years ago? Tell you a secret, she joined us immediately after her Standard Six. This girl can't study.

But she can sell photocopiers.

Rumors has it that so many of our colleagues were after her. Office boys, salesmen, managers. However, the General Manager and the Managing Director were only admiring at a distance.

Fed up, she uprooted and married a gweilo and emigrated to Sydney Australia. She has 2 beautiful daughters (she said) and told me she is in the market to accept deposits if anybody has some future holy matrimonies in mind. The daughters can speak Cantonese to facilitate handsome and rich Chinamen who can't speak English.

Today, Marjorie and Jenkins (hubby) have moved back to this country and be near me in Taman Desa. They booked a semi-D by the Desa Lake. You know, the one where flood water channeled by our not so Smart Tunnel go to.

Meeting her again after such a long while, I realised that she is as much Chinese as me.

Jullie Chin married a local fellow named Lim Chiew. No price for guessing right that the husband likes to drink alcohol. (duh!)

Jullie is the most kind hearted, magnanimous person I know. At one time I thought she was in love with me when she was so kind to this yours truly until I realized that she was kind and helpful to everybody.

If you need some money, please write to her at limjullie@gmail.com. Don't worry, you won't be the first one for sure.

I have never heard of this Soroptimist Society until I heard her mentioning it. Gee, this girl is some regular yellow skinned Mother Teresa. She too has two beautiful daughters. She flashed pictures of them from her wallet.

The people we talked about behind their backs include Joe Wong, Thomas Wong, Larry Poon, Ryan Poon, Ricky Yip, William Augustin, Peter Chin, Yan Yoke Ping, Liew Sip Chon, Charles Chang, Marjorie's and Jullie's daughters.

(wah, talkative lei?)
