Changing Clothes and An Experience in Dubai

How can somebody change clothes repeatedly so quickly and what happened to the old clothes?

This is better than my rubber band magic (melting rubber bands).

The clip is not new though.

Remember Brandy?

I received the video clip from my architect friend Stephen Richard who is currently in Dubai.

Talking about Dubai, I want to share with you something that has been around cyberspace for a few years already. Very funny. You may not have seen it yet.

Muslims reading the following should have a sense of humor. Otherwise, you may not like it.

An American experience of Dubai.

April 30th: Just got transferred to work and live in beautiful Dubai, UAE! WOW!!! Now this is a city that knows how to live!!! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. It’s like New York City minus all the crocks, murderers, and drunks. What a place! I watched the sunset from a deck chair on my beautiful bedroom veranda. It was beautiful. I’ve finally found my home. I love it here.

May 13th: Really heating up. Got to 95 degrees today. Not a problem. Live in an air- conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car, and everything is fully air-conditioned. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I’m turning into a sun worshiper.

May 30th: Had the backyard landscaped with tropical plants today around our lovely pool. Lots of palms and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here. Heat is no problem at all.

June 10th: The temperature hasn’t been below 95 all week even during the night. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least today it’s kind of windy though. But getting used to the heat is taking longer than I expected.

July 15th: Fell asleep by the pool. Got 3rd degree burns over 90% of my body. Missed 5 days of work. What a dumb thing to do in this lovely city. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ol’ sun in a climate like this.

July 20th: Kitty (our cat) sneaked into the car when I left for the office. By the time I got to the hot car for my lunch break, Kitty had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stank up the $60,000 Audi. I told the kids that she ran away. The car now smells like Wiskettes and cat shit. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this heat.

July 25th: The wind sucks. It feels like a giant fucking hair dryer in here!!! And it’s hot as hell. The home air-conditioner died. The fucking AC repairman charged 500 Dirhams just to drive over and tell me it was broken in fucking Hindu English or some language that I couldn’t understand.

July 30th: Air conditioner still broken. Been sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now because it is 7000 fucking degrees inside. Bloody 2,000,000 Dirhams house and we can’t even go inside. Why did I ever come here? Fuck the sun. Fuck the wind. Fuck the freakin’ ocean. And fucking locals walk around dressed in white tablecloths followed by little black female ninjas. Fucking crazy town.

August 4th: It’s 114 fucking degrees today. Finally got the ol’ air-conditioner fixed. It cost 2,000 fucking Dirhams and got the temperature down to 25, but the fucking humidity makes the house feel 30 fucking Dubai degrees. Stupid terrorist repairman. I hate this stupid fucking place.

August 8th: If another local wiseass cracks, ‘Hot enough for you today?’ I’m going to fucking whack him all the way back to his goddamn desert. Fucking Dubai; by the time I get to work with all that fucking traffic and heat, the car’s radiator is boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like a baked cat!!!

August 9th: Tried to run some errands today because it is fucking Friday. Wore shorts and sat on the black leather seats in my Audi. The seat was so fucking hot I thought my ass was on fire. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and my fucking ass. Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried ass, and a baked cat.

August 10th: The weather report might as well be a fucking recording. Hot, humid and fucking sunny. Hot, humid and fucking sunny. Hot, humid and fucking sunny. It’s been too hot to do anything for 2 damn months and the weatherman dude wearing the fucking white tablecloth on TV says it might really warm up next week. Does it ever rain in this damn fucking place? What is next, a fucking hell freezing over wave?

August 14th: WELCOME TO HELL!!! Temperature got to 120 today. Now the air-conditioner’s gone in my fucking Audi. The fucking Audi serviceman said, ‘Hot enough for you today?’ Fuck him and fuck Audi. My wife had to spend 7,000 Dirham to bail my ass out of jail for assaulting that stupid fucking Hindu bastard wiseass. Fuck Dubai! What kind of a sick demented fucking idiot would want to live in this shit hole?

August 15th: (Independence Day ?) Fuck this place. I’m off back to New York.

Kind of remind you on what's happening in Kuala Lumpur these days? The weather?

Your Mother is a Cow?

Chit chat, chit chat.

Then somebody told me the reason why Buddhists do not eat beef. She said. "Almost all of us grow up drinking cow's milk. If we eat cows, then it is like eating our mothers".

She continued. "Not I say want ahr? Somebody said like that so I say like that lor".

Subsequently, I looked to the Net for answers. And where else to get answers better than

http://answers.yahoo.com/

Then I got this.

Question: Why buddhist don't take beef? Is there any reason or story behind this? If so..please share your story.?

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters

Practicing Buddhists actually won't eat ANY meat -- it's bad karma to kill other living things. The serious ones won't even drink milk, because it deprives the baby calves of food. You may be thinking of the Hindus, who hold the cow as sacred and higher up on the spiritual ladder than humans.

Let me enlighten you. Altogether there were 9 answers to that question. 7 got zero votes, 1 got 1 vote and our best answer got 2 votes, hence 67% of the total votes.

Aiyah! What shit nonsense is this. And I thought the Net is an awesome solution provider.

Anybody wants to tell me why Buddhists, especially those praying to the Goddess of Mercy can't take beef?

Did you come to work This Morning?

I know zilch about football, but since everybody is talking about it; how can I not be awared that Barcelona kicked Manchester United's ass twice to win the Champions League 2009.

"This team ... is a work of art" and "the whole planet bows before the best team in the world," one paper went on to say.

"Lionel Messi was simply too good for Cristiano Ronaldo." another one said.

So what do I say? I say "Did you come to work this morning as usual?".

I understand Liew Sip Chon is a huge football fan. Can somebody please check and let me know if he came in as usual this morning?

I saw a movie recently with Australian actress Naomi Watts in it. I shall tell you a bit more later. Meanwhile, some pictures to tease you a bit?

Chill out Fridays at 3rd Mile Square

Received a call from Pauline Wong yesterday. Pauline was with Canon in the 90's.

If my information is correct, she and a partner were responsible for the creation of 3rd Mile Square in Klang Road. Oldtown White Coffee has quite a big outlet there.

Together with Danny Lee, Chua Hock Keat, Malani Cumarasamy, Serena Ong, Noraini Ibrahim, Jeeneze Lee, Joe Wong, Pauline Wong; we went there to a pub called Bernie's for a couple of drinks for a couple of times.

This time round, Pauline asked us to go this friday to chill out. Old people like me usually get the chill whenever somebody ask us to chill out. We are always worried about the eternal chill.

Come, join us if you are game. I was told to expect some street party. Well, at least I should be able to find good company.

Fast and Furious 4

Soon after I've watched Fast and Furious 4, I noticed that I've begun to drive faster. Is it just me?

The movie has done its rounds a couple of months back. I guess you would have either watched it, read about it or watched some trailers and clips on YouTube.

Of course, the movie is about driving very quickly whether or not you need to reach your destination fast or not. This is not an exceptionally good movie. It has its fair share of driving excitements though.

The most worthwhile watch happened within the first 7-8 minutes when Vin Diesel and gang tried to hijack a long trailer road train carrying a lot of gasoline. Very exciting. Fast cars, muscles everywhere, co-ordination, jumping, climbing, hammering, a very tan and very healthy looking Michelle Rodriguez.

This 31 year old tough chick American actress was pretty impressive on this hijack scene. I first came upon her in Blue Crush and later she was featured quite a bit on Lost.

However the next couple of minutes after the hijack scene was really pathetic. It was supposed to be a tender moment when Vin Diesel closed in to tell her that they had better split as following him would be too dangerous for her. Here it is so apparent for all that Michele Rodriguez can't act for shit. This tough chick just can't handle a tender moment. I was embarrassed for her.

Possibly the producer was on the same wavelength as I and promptly killed her off. So, after the first 15 minutes, there was no more Michele Rodriguez, despite being third place on the credits listing. She was Letty in the movie. If you are going to watch this movie, do not wait in anticipation for her to be resurrected.

The other chick was Jordana Brewster. In the movie she was the sister of Vin Diesel and the girlfriend of our other hero Paul Walker.

Surprise, surprise. There was no sex scene at all in this movie despite so many sexy women being displayed all over and all the time.

The ending of the movie was kind of nonsensical. I think they just didn't know how to end it; be logical, be fair and yet be politically correct.

Well, here's something from Jordana. Watch it if you have the time. Don't if you can't stand 2 girls kissing repeatedly. This is from a 2004 movie D.E.B.S.

The Made-Over Susan Boyle

You would be Alan from Recarts Sdn Bhd coming back from a 6 week four wheel drive incursion into inner Mongolia if you have not heard of Susan Boyle, the Scottish sensation who wow'd Simon Cowell.

Well, Susan has just made it to the finals of Britain's got Talent 2009 with this song Memory.

I have to say this. I think Susan Boyle's performance is overrated; possibly because I took some sour grapes for tea a little earlier.

Sure, she was very good. But look at the attention she is getting, the blow by blow news in the mainstream, the blogs, the youtube hits etc. I really do think that the attention was a bit over the top.

My read would be that the underdog element, the good-book-with-the-bad-cover element provide the masses with a very good excuse of a reason to cheer in a champion, albeit not entirely fairly.

Barbara Streisand is one of my all time favourite singers (up there in my list with the likes of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey). I much prefer this version although it may not be an entirely fair comparison. With experience and exposure, Susan Boyle may become outstanding in her own right.

What a Waste

This was on foxnews.com dated 26th March 2009.

Police: Girl Dies After Parents Pray for Healing Instead of Seeking Medical Help

WESTON, Wis. — An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday.

Everest Metro Police Chief Dan Vergin said Madeline Neumann died Sunday.

"She got sicker and sicker until she was dead," he said.

Vergin said an autopsy determined the girl died from diabetic ketoacidosis, an ailment that left her with too little insulin in her body, and she had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness.

The girl's parents, Dale and Leilani Neumann, attributed the death to "apparently they didn't have enough faith," the police chief said.

They believed the key to healing "was it was better to keep praying. Call more people to help pray," he said.

The mother believes the girl could still be resurrected, the police chief said
.

I am not much of a god fearing person as some of you would know me.

A large part of my upbringing involved attending church (I was educated in a missionary school), going/praying in temples (both my parents were rather staunch Buddhists), and being on the receiving end of countless stories supposedly religious in nature.

Over the years, it has become a bit of a struggle for me to attempt to reject ideas and concepts of which run counter to what I think.

Nevertheless, to borrow from somewhere; I guess faith is a gift, of which I am yet to receive.

I hope the death of Madeline did not happen in vain.

Jenni Tan - Salsa Dancer/Teacher

There is a pub along the same row as my office, a corner lot. This place is called New Star. Yeah, I know; not a very original name. I think this place is now about 10 years old already. Some of you could have joined me for a drink or two a couple of times there.

The boss lady Jan is very often there. Her eldest daughter is called Jenni.

Jenni is a salsa dancer with some awards under her belt. Today, she runs a dance studio upstairs of the pub called New Star Studio. Yeah, again .. the name is not very inspirational, I know.

The studio caters to young and old and she conducts classes in several dance styles. (hope I am using the right terms.)

Watch some of her video clips?

Visit her? http://www.newstarstudio.com/

Adam Lambert lost.

I've had a bit of a shock hearing the news yesterday. Not that I have anything against Kris Allen. Actually Kris is really nice, being a good Christian et al. Kris talks nice too. Kris looks nice. In fact, don't you want him to be your brother, son, best friend, husband, lover?

Scratch lover. I guess he won't touch you premaritally. You just have to be married to him to have sex.

Also, I've heard from Jeradyne who heard from Jeremy Cheong who heard from a friend who saw a comment on facebook by somebody.

That person said. "Many years from now, Kris Allen will be having a drink with Taylor Hicks to talk about old times." How mean!

Okay, now that I have vent my frustration. Congratulations, Kris Allen. You are certainly a great singer.

Sometimes my prediction on eventual winners really do suck.

Still, let me predict.

Adam Lambert will join the Chris Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks club. A great career ahead.

I can't help but noticed Adam has a lurking dark side though. It is pretty apparent to me especially when he smiles and tries to be nice. He could have a great career too in horror movies.

I miss Brooke White, a last year's fifth place finalist. What happened to her?

Tell me if you like her single post American Idol. Hold up my Heart.

Looking for love ....

People can find strange messages, enlightenment, a calling, nirvana, extreme emotions etc. from strange and unexpected places. Maybe even god.

You would expect me to give you some forinstances, right?

Right.

I came across a set of words of extreme wisdom.

Let me lay these out for you.

I don't like to sleep alone
I don't wanna fight
I don't want to live
I don't want to talk
I feel fine
I finally found someone.

Don't you think these words of wisdom are so profound? I read them recently in Desa Petaling.

It was in a book.

Okay okay, it was in a karaoke song book.

What? You have something against karaoke books? I tell you, words of wisdom are words of wisdom wherever they are.

By the way, I wonder why some men look for love in pubs. That's really looking for love in all the wrong places.

Please enjoy the following old country song by Johnny Lee. I thought it was really good.

Took Andrew Kong to Goon Wah

I repeat.

Sometimes Andrew Kong peeps into my blog to look for food places to go.

Well, he did. Last week I received a text message from him asking "Where's Jalan Sultan?" That was in response to my Jalan Sultan roast pork mee post.

We went for lunch the following day and we did not go to Jalan Sultan as that was a dinner place. So I took him to Goon Wah in old klang road. Andrew deserves the best and this place is currently my top five most favourite places.

Every goddamned dish is good here. Let me count them down for you.

The claypot fishhead meehoon. Reputed to be the best ever in this country. Ask for the thick meehoon. They do not like it if you order the thin ones. Their 'signboard' meehoon is the thick ones. Naturally we ordered this dish.

Next on my list of favourites is the claypot loh shee fun. I almost never failed to have this dish every time I go there. It has a lot of dried shrimps and chopped spring onions. We had this as well.

The third dish we took was the 'woo tau kow york' with rice dumplings. This would be the marbled pork with yam. A hakka dish for sure. The 'man tou' is pre-sliced for you to put in your meat like in a sandwich fashion.

We did not have the next one. But I know quite a bit of people like it. I am so so with it. Chicken wings with sesame seeds, fried.

Unless Andrew Kong was acting really well, I could have sworn he enjoyed this lunch.

He asked. "How come you never mentioned this place before in your blog?" He said before parting that he is going to bring one of his fishhead kaki's here soon. He just didn't mention he would invite me along.

I live quite near this place.

Except for the last picture, the rest were lifted off from other blogs. Their pictures sure look better than if I have taken them with my Samsung camera phone.

Incidentally, somebody told me today that Samsung put in more multi-function printers last year and any other brand, including Hewlett-Packard and Canon. True?

The Voca People

This is the first time, I heard of these people.

Once again I was alerted to this by somebody from my loop group.

Pretty entertaining this one, where all musical instruments are simulated by voices of these Voca People. Well, you may just love them.

Me? This first time, I kind of like them. However if I should continue to listen to them for an hour, I'll probably not want to listen to them again for the rest of my life.

I don't think you are a Doctor ..

.. otherwise it would be exceedingly boring for you.

There is no need for me to suspect that you do know that a hole in the heart does not mean that you were shot there.

And you know that if the valves separating the upper and lower chambers of the heart are faulty and blood flows back from the bottom to the top, you have this condition.

Educational youtube videos are coming up. Doctors will not be interested. For all doctors, just go visit here for 9 beautiful slide show pictures of Ms Japan Universe 2009, Ms Emiri Miyasaka.

The rest of you please pay close attention to the following 2 videos and the link.

The followings were forwarded by FY Tan of which I received as a subscriber to a group loop.

Simon Yam and the Canon Camwhores

Simon Yam was in town recently. I think he came to give some lectures to the Canon personnel. He was also in town for the Canon 50th anniversary SLR camera event. I could be wrong. You know my sources of information are not the most reliable.

Anyhow, once Simon comes to town, there will be a flurry of camwhoring.

Incidentally, for those a little behind the times, camwhoring is neither degrading nor is the term derogatory. In fact, camwhoring is a sought after activity.

Here, feast your eyes; photos galore.

For the record, my opinion so far is that Amy Teoh's efforts with Simon Yam will be hard to beat. Though her photos were taken many years ago, I deem them champion trophy materials.

Hey girls and boys, surprise me the next time Simon Yam comes around. Okay?

Photos borrowed and are the property of Rocky Loot, Christina Lee, Alicia Hooi, Amy Teoh etc.

I Am Rooting for Adam Lambert

I am rooting for his gentleman to win this season's American Idol.

Of course, some suspect he is not a gentleman at all. Some thought he is gay.

Some time back, I mentioned two people to watch out for. Him and 16 year old Allison Iraheta. Unfortunately rocker Allison was kicked out earlier and now it is between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.

Here I share with you a side of Adam that you may not have seen.

You go, Adam.

Australia - The Movie

.
Just look at this picture.

A horse, Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman in the movie released end last year, Australia.

I watched this movie recently.

In the picture, the one above, we have a majestic looking and buff Hugh Jackman striding a large horse, with its head dipped in submission. Nicole Kidman leaning close with her head up surrendering to his touch, her hands hanging limp by her sides opening herself out to him, offering no resistance.

Yeah. This picture promises great sex ahead.

Well, now back to the movie. This film bombed at the last Oscars, but I enjoyed this movie. It is a classic romantic adventure with great looking people and spectacular scenery's.

What spoilt this movie, in my opinion, is that it tried too hard to make the story more complex than it should be. In doing so, the movie dragged on too long exceeding 2.5 hours. It would have been better if the movie is shortened leaving out the last portion where the young aboriginal boy was kidnapped resulting in a lost and found nonsense part. The end part did not tug at any of my heart's strings.

Hugh Jackman was awesome looking in the scene where he bath in the open pouring a barrel of water down his half naked hunk of a body. He is just so hot!

Nicole Kidman was terribly good looking as usual with fantastic features. However I do not think she would epitomize what Asian men would consider desirable.

I like the earlier Elton John with his Saturday's Alright for Fighting, Daniel, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Your Song, Candle in the Wind than of late.

However, this ballad is very pleasant.

Soh no More

Last evening I came upon a piece of news that was very sad and a little disturbing.

I came to know this person called Soh. I met him when both of us drink regularly in this pub in Danau Desa.

He died 4 days ago.

Apparently he fell and went into a coma and dies without awakening. I've known him for about 2 years and we talk a bit every time when we bumped into each other. He was a good pool player.

But really, what's outstanding about this man is his ability to do the 'melting rubber band' trick with real style and finesse. Over the last 1.5 years, I have always addressed him as my sifu and I tried to learn to do the trick the way he does. (or did).

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of him. There was no announcement in the papers and I can't seem to find his call card. He was attached to an IT company called Hyper Advance Sdn Bhd.

Right now, I keep seeing his face in my mind's eye. He was 30 something and not married.

Pretty sad.

I've posted up a video clip of the 'melting rubber band' trick some time ago on this blog. If you think I did it quite well, ..... you should have seen my sifu.

May he rest in peace.

Samantha Sim

Samantha Sim Pee Ling is a CanonMalaysian.

The story began a little while back when Marjorie Chang moved back to Kuala Lumpur from Melbourne together with her gweilo husband and 2 daughters.

I understand that Jenkins (hubby) is a big time engineer in the oil and gas industry with jobs currently in Vietnam. As he is gone quite a bit, Marjorie thought KL would be a better place while waiting for him. There are economical and other practical reasons as well. Food, for instance. So they bought a house in Taman Desa besides the lake. That's the same lake that our Smart Tunnel will channel KL's flood water to. Excellent feng sui location.

So, what's my point?

Do I need a point?

So, Marjorie threw a house warming for friends and relatives and I did not go. I mentioned to Jullie Chin that we must at least visit Marjorie in her house as I felt quite bad for not taking up the invite. Jullie completely ignored the house issue and promptly organised a lunch in Desa Hartamas.

Jullie didn't manage to make it as an urgent matter arose.

We took lunch anyway but not in Desa Hartamas as Jullie can't make it. So what has all these got to do with Samantha Sim.

You're right. Marjorie invited Samantha to join us. We had lunch in Goon Wah, an awesome restaurant. Will tell you more on this food joint as just today, I went there again with Andrew Kong.

Although Samantha is a CanonMalaysian, she has never joined Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd. She actually joined Mulpha Trading Sdn Bhd in 1980 and left in 1985. Mulpha then was the distributor for all Canon products in Malaysia. CMMSB was born in 1987.

She was in copiers. She left to join the publication industry and I think she has remained in this industry since. Currently, she is the General Manager, Advertisement/Promotions for a publication company called Talent Plus Sdn Bhd. This company is just about to launch a free Chinese weekly called Red Tomato. Watch out for it.

The office is just behind my office. I took a picture of the signboard to show you.

.
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
I can't remember how many children Samantha has now, but I remembered her telling me she has a teenage daughter in Australia.
.
It seemed that when she started a facebook account and linked up with the daughter, the daughter started to change her entries from English to Chinese knowing that Samantha can't read Chinese.

Ben Affleck, my brother

Ben Affleck said: "I got into an argument with my wife about making the bed, my point being, why does a bed need to be made? It doesn't hurt anyone for your covers to just lie on your bed during the course of the day until you come back to it and get back in it. My wife was like, 'You must have a made bed.' It's crazy."

Ben my brother, I feel your pain.

Wifey, of course is Jennifer Garner.

Perak - What More is There to Say.

.

.

.

.

Local bloggers were all abuzz on this afternoon's news of KL High Court Judge Justice Abdul Aziz Abd Rahim handing the reins for the state government back to Nizar, basically saying that the Sultan's decision was not right, or that the Sultan has no right to make the decision that he made.

Let me join in the fray.

Well, Nizar is going back to Sultan Azlan Shah to seek a dissolution of the State Assembly and call for fresh elections.

I am a little confused here.

Shouldn't our laws pertaining to areas like these be clearer if they are not.

Shouldn't our politicians and their legal advisors; the Sultan (a lawyer by profession, he served as a judge, and the Lord President of the Federal Court before becoming the Sultan of Perak) and his legal advisor be clear on our laws in the country.

Should all these be necessary!

Nevertheless, the turn of events of late pleases me.

Happy Mother's Day

Everytime a child is born, a Mother is born as well.

or something like that, I read in The Star a little while ago. Once again, I don't know what exactly it means although it sounded pretty profound. Mothers all over may understand things that I would find hard to grasp.

I met two mothers (real ones) recently and they are Samanta Sim and Marjorie Chang Jenkins, both CanonMalaysians. We had lunch. Shall tell you more in a later post.

I also met quite a few mothers (real ones as well, real motherfathers) in various other places. Meet these people all the time.

Hey, to all the mothers who drop by to visit.

"Happy Mother's Day!"

Here wishing that your children continue to think that you are the greatest moms all through their entire lives. (their teenage period could be mightly tricky).

Can the Imans help?

Yesterday was Friday.

Driving around yesterday, I seemed to notice that nowadays there are really quite a number of Malaysian Muslim bikers not wearing helmets on Fridays. I guess they are going to the mosques for their Friday prayers or coming out from them after.

Two things could be wrong here.

1. The bikers are certainly exposing themselves to unnecessary risks.

2. It is not good to have a portion of the citizens not abiding by the laws of the country, albeit only on a day in the week.

This group of people are obviously religious and would most likely listen to the imams' advice. Wouldn't it be wonderful if some governmental authorities can get the imams to convey their advice across to the people coming in to the mosques to attend their Friday prayers? That is to wear helmets if they are coming in on motorbikes.

Not a whole lot of political will has to be called upon to do this, no?

Another thing.

If all preachers of organised religions can be convinced to advise followers to co-exist with people of other religions as well as atheists, then "heaven" may be a lot closer to us than we think.

A Great Way to Get Home

If you are not like me, who would go for a couple of drinks before heading home; then this would be a great way to get home.

The song "Let your Love flow" is by country music duo Bellamy Brothers, reaching number one in the United States Billboard Hot 100 in 1976.

I did not wear Black today

The amount of information and news coming at you on what's happening in Perak, from the media, mainstream and otherwise today, is massive and continuous.

You have the arrests, the speaker being forcefully removed, chair and all, the restaurants doing brisk business, plenty of shouting and shoving. Nizar raising his voice for the first time and so on.

As rightfully pointed out by Wong Chun Wai, the whole thing started by somebody from Barisan Nasional defecting over to Pakatan Rakyat and then later three jumped the other way.

Can't the law just fix this? You vote for somebody for the party he represent as well the person. How can it be read any other way. How can he jump over to the other side and still represent the people who voted him in. I don't care what the law says. I don't care from which side to which side is the leap. It is illogical.

I say we should fix this, and fix this very quickly.

I did not wear black today. Nevertheless I support Pakatan Rakyat. Actually I support any coalition that can throw out the present Government, as long as I hear sweet words like ending corruption, ending cronyism, ending ISA, ending discrimination, ending the raising of the kris, ending talk of ketuanan melayu, etc.

Sultan St Roast Pork Mee

Andrew Kong said to me some time ago that he sometimes peep into this blog to find new places to eat. Well, I hope he drops by to visit.

Very few of you know that I was born and raised in Sultan Street, Kuala Lumpur. I was there until I was 11. A wonderful place to bring up your kids. My address then was 48 Jln Sultan. Right besides my old house after dark is this place.

Seng Kee is very famous for its roast pork mee and claypot loh see fun. Fantastic ambiance for dinner. You can park your car right by the road at night.

The shop proper is air-conditioned.

The claypot loh see fun comes with a fresh egg for you to mix in by yourself. This dish is not the usual dry type of claypot noodle. A little different but very tasty indeed.
.
The roast pork mee is also very good, though it comes with quite a bit of gravy as well making it pretty moist. However, I am not too crazy with the roast pork as it has too much sugar added before the re frying, making it too sticky.
.
